Description
This 1.5 to 9-stop, 77mm Hoya Variable Density II Filter features an updated design of the Hoya Variable Density II that minimizes the vignette effect often experienced when shooting on wide-angle lenses. Hoya engineers reconstructed the Variable Density frame, minimized the overall thickness, and created a top frame that is one full size bigger than the original Variable Neutral Density Filter. The variable ND allows you to control how much darkening of the entire image you create. This allows you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed without overexposing your image. By slowing your exposure time, you can create motion blur for special effects or to convey a sense of movement. Opening your iris allows you to create shallow depth of field, which can help isolate your subject.
